Bible Reading: Psalm 131:1- 3
“Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and forever.” – Psalm 131:3 (KJV).
The word of God says in Proverbs 13:12 (KJV), “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” A lot of people have been waiting in earnest for some things and it appears it is not forthcoming. Based on this some have decided to seek other means of achieving their results. The sad part of this is that they may achieve the result using the devilish way and then begin to serve the devil as a result. Unfortunately, the devil will give them other deadly consequences which they did not anticipate.
Some years ago, a man was searching for wealth and he went for the devil’s alternative by swallowing a charm that was supposed to make him wealthy. Unfortunately, rather than being wealthy, he kept getting swollen and came to church for deliverance. After giving his life to Christ, a short prayer was made and he was free from the charm. He came to church for some days and later stopped coming. When the church noticed he was no longer coming, he was followed up only to confirm that he was no longer coming to church as he had gone back to where he got the first charm and he was told it was the wrong one then. He had since been given the right one and he was already making money. So he said the church was like a hospital and he was sick when he came to the church but he had since been well and there was no point going back to the church.
Since all efforts to bring him back to the church failed, he was left alone. Subsequently, the date of his death approached as a consequence of the charm and he decided to travel outside Nigeria with the hope that the demon would not be able to catch him outside. He died in the plane! He was not ready to wait for God’s time and he ended up reducing his life span and more importantly going to Hell!
What are you going through that you think it is getting too late or you are even giving God deadline and it appears God may not meet your deadline? Well you need to note that God’s time is not our time and His methods are not like ours. That is why he says in 1 Corinthians 1:27 (KJV): “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”
He will surely meet your needs but at His time. He gave Abraham the child he promised at His time. He will answer you but He wants you to keep your hope alive. That’s why He says in Psalm 131:3 (KJV) “Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and forever.”
But as we read in PROV 13:12b,”……….. but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Prayer: Father, deliver solution to all my challenges this week in Jesus name.
