Bible Reading: Ps. 77 & 78; Romans10
“Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou has declared thy strength among the people” – Psalm 77:14 (KJV)
Indeed, our God not only does wonders, He is the God of wonders. Wonders are the product of His activities. Wonders flow from our God seamlessly and ceaselessly. Everything about His creations are wonders. The wonder of the universe, the wonders of the huge mountains, the development of the foetus in the mother’s womb, the sustenance of life via the air we breath, the placement of the sun and the moon, the constellation etc. etc. These are but a few in the arrays of God’s innumerable wonders. To confirm His attribute of wonders the scripture says in Psalm 72:18 (KJV), “Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things”.
The greatest of His wonders is the wonder of His love that surpasses human knowledge. It stands contrary to human law that the just suffered for the sin of the unjust, the righteous died for the unrighteous. His love is unfathomable and humanly undiscernible. It stands contrary to the ways of men. God’s faultless love is overwhelming and possessive. It is an unfailing love that brought salvation to humanity. This wonder of God’s love is so great that the scriptures captured it as “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,……” John 3:16(KJV). The giving of His Son as a ransom was love-induced; He first loved before He gave.
The wonders of His love brought succour to the depraved souls of humanity imprisoned in dungeon of darkness and temptation. “For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted” – Hebrew 2:18 (KJV). Love is the strength that God has declared among men. For it is His love that broke the eternal chain and torture of humanity. No wonder the bible says LOVE never fails. Every other thing may fail but love cannot fail. God is love and cannot fail. This is God’s strength demonstrated among the people that burst the prison door open. The eternal gates and everlasting doors shut against man was forced open by the great instrument of Love.
Dear reader, the only way and route of escape from the impending catastrophe coming upon man is through embracing the wonder of His love and accepting Christ into your life. LOVE IS THE GREATEST AMONG THE WONDERS OF GOD. Accept it and be free.
