Bible Reading: 2 Kings 22, 23; John 4:28-54
“So when the Samaritans were come unto him they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word” – John 4:40-41 (KJV)
There are a lot of professing Christians today who are good at counting the number of years they have been following Christ yet without a corresponding exploits that match up with their length of years. It is important for every reasonable child of God to know and remind himself that time shall not always be there on this side of eternity, it shall stop ticking one day. Hence, every energy should be directed at the task of the Kingdom because of its essentialities.
Jesus Christ was prevailed upon to stay by the Samaritans as a result of what the woman told them and the Master of the universe agreed to their plea. For two days, Christ engaged them on only the issue that matters for life and godliness. The result can only be imagined. Just for two days, many came to the realisation of their emptiness and surrendered their entirety to Jesus Christ. What exploit can you point at since you came to know the Lord? Stop the entire funfair you think Christianity is meant for and put your weight behind the matter of the kingdom before the souls you are meant to save start pointing accusing fingers at you in hell.
No perfect example can we have other than what Jesus Christ laid in Samaria when tireless efforts were put into forming Himself in the people who were around for just forty eight hours. The story of their lives changed and they were able to say: “And they told the woman, now we no longer believe (trust, have faith) just because of what you said; for we have heard Him ourselves (personally), and we know that He truly is the Savior of the world, the Christ” – John 4:42 (Amp). Allow people to meet Christ personally though you.
Prayer: Lord, I enter into fresh commitment for greater exploit for the kingdom of God in Jesus Christ name.
