Bible Reading: Genesis 29,30;Matthew 9:1-19
“And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb” Genesis 30:22 (KJV)
There are so many people today in need but dont really know what they need. God knows our needs more than we do. After all It was He who made us, we didnt make ourselves (Psalm 100:3). One in close relationship with God will be guided and directed towards praying for that need to be met by Him.
The bible says in Psalm 127:3 (KJV), ” Behold, children are gifts of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” The LORD knows we need children but sometimes, some circumstances could make Him stay childbearing in a person. Rachel, the beloved wife of Jacob, was barren because God saw that Leah, the first wife and older sister to Rachel was hated by their husband, Jacob (Genesis 29:31). Leah never asked to be married to Jacob; it was her father, Laban, who because of tradition, forced her on Jacob. It took Jacob another seven years to get Rachel, the woman he loves. So he hated Leah. God hates injustice and so allowed Leah to have a child and remain important in that house. And Rachel was barren.
But God remembered Rachel. Ps 9:18a (KJV) says, “For the needy shall not always be forgotten.” So God knows our needs per time and in His time He remembers us. He remembered Noah and his family in the ark (Genesis 8:1). He still remembers His people today.
What is that thing you have been believing God for? What is that thing you have been asking from Him? He knows about it. Just commit it to Him for He cares. Only, you must learn to wait in patience and hope like Rachel and Noah did. God never forgets His people neither will He turn them back. Proverbs 3:27 (KJV) sums up what God does, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.”
Prayer: Father, thank You for always remembering me and my needs for You know my needs better than I do.
