TOPIC: THE ALL-SEEING GOD
Bible Reading: Jeremiah 46-48: Hebrews 4
“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him whom we have to do” Hebrews 4:13 (KJV).
The focal scripture of today aptly described the all-seeing power of God. He is not man that is limited by sight, hence the deepest secrets of men are bare before Him. Even the intent of our hearts are open to Him. This is one of the many features of His Omni-presence attribute. A wife can bottle the secret of adultery from the husband but it is known to God. Same applies to the adulterer. Nothing is hidden from the all-seeing eye of our God. The darkest place is as light before God. “Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike to thee” Psalm 139:12(KJV).
Due to limitation of our sight we can behold only when present, physical and material things, but God beholds all things both in the spirit and physical realm. We are not privy to the heavy satanic and evil activities going on in the dark places of the earth, but they are made bare before our God who shields us under His Eternal Covenant (Psalm 74:20). It is Him the all-seeing and all-knowing God that we have to do. It is this all-seeing and all-knowing attributes of God that makes it a fearful thing for any man to fall into the hands of the Living God (Hebrews 10: 31).
Having knowledge of this divine attribute of God is essential for a successful Christian journey. Knowing that all you do is known to God even when no man on earth knows, will keep us in check as true Christians who understand that we shall one day appear before Him to give account of all our activities both in secret and in the open. This is why the bible says in Galatians 6:7 (KJV), “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Often a times, as Christians we forget this truth of all-seeing eyes of God and begin to indulge ourselves in deceptive actions, giving our fellow man falsehood and pretentious living. When we truly realize that we have to do with our Father who sees all we do in secret and in the open, it helps us to cut off the rough edges of our life for effective onward pilgrimage to heaven.
One of the greatest trap the enemy set for us in our Christian life is lying. Someone define lying as a coward’s way out of trouble. However, lie conceal facts which though hidden from men is known to God. Most Christian indulge in lying on daily basis without considering it a sin. Like I usually tell my audience of the example of the video machine. When one goes to a wedding a good video will reveal most things that happened, some of the attendees forgetting that they are been videoed exhibit some actions that reveals negative tendency towards the celebrants. Such actions will be seen when that video is played. A hidden video camera is used to identify an intruder who burgled a house. If the man created by God can achieve such feet, then we must be rest assured that all our activities here on earth are being captured by the recording video of the all-seeing and all-knowing God.
My dear reader, please note that the bible says, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” Romans 14:12(KJV). This account that we must give before God is for both secret and open deeds. This is one of the many reasons why we must work out our salvation with fear and trembling knowing whom we have to do with.
Prayer: Father give me grace to put myself in check always in my Christian race.
