Topic: WEARING PRAISE AS A GARMENT
Bible Reading: Amos 1-3; Revelation 5.
Memory Verse: “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever.” Revelation 5:13 (KJV)
The importance of praising God is well highlighted in Revelation 5:13 (KJV), “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever,” where we see all creatures on earth, under the earth and in heaven praising the Lord Jesus Christ. In the next verse, John further stated that even the twenty four elders fell down and worshipped him!
How serious do you take praising God? Do you remember he is your creator, who provides for your daily needs. The one who creates the heavens and the earth. He is the omnipotent God who can do all things? The one who knows all things and knows your present challenges. Those challenges do not change his status as omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God!
However, He can change what appears unchangeable to you and He can resolve what you consider impossible. He made a way in the Red Sea for the Israelites to pass on dry ground and used the same Red Sea to drown their enemies, the Egyptians chasing them then ( Exodus 14:21-28). He is still the same yesterday, today and forever!
The Psalmist writes in Psalm 100:4 (KJV), “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” So you can enter the inner circle of God by praising Him; recounting great things He has done, things He is doing and things He will do! You can also eulogise the Lord by calling Him by His characteristics or appreciating the works of His hands in heaven, on earth and under the earth.
Beside reverencing God, praises break chains and open doors like it happened to Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-26; gives victory over mighty enemies as in 2 Chronicles 20:20-22. Similarly, praises will bring you to His presence as in Psalm 100:4. Praising God brings physical healing and joy in all forms.
Some years ago, a marriage ceremony was going on in a Pentecostal church and when the newly wedded husband and wife got to the church’s office where they were to sign the marriage certificate, the husband slumped! After several minutes of prayers and the newly wedded husband did not come back to life, the Pastors switched to praises and after a few minutes, the man coughed and came back to life. Praises resuscitates as in this case! Are you praising God in truth and in Spirit, then expect an unusual visitation from God. However if you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, your praises will not achieve any desired objective because “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29 (KJV).
Prayer point: Father, I will praise you intensely and regularly from today in Jesus name.
