Topic: You Don’t Say Everything You See.
Bible Reading: Micah 1-3; Revelation 10
Memory Verse: “And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.” Revelation 10:4 (KJV).
There is an adage in the Western part of Nigeria that you do not say everything you see. This is because we all have different backgrounds, understandings and capacities. What you may see and take as minor, someone may take it as a very grievious situation.
In our memory verse, the Lord Jesus said to John that he was not allowed to tell people about some things he saw because not everything that our eyes see that we should talk about. Proverbs 10:14 (KJV) says, “Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.” There are things that God will reveal to you for the purpose of your knowledge and action such as interceding for people in order to avert danger. In such circumstances, revelation of the event may endanger the life of such a person. Thus when God reveals prophetic issues to you about individuals, group or nations, you should assess the situation whether it is proper to reveal such information to the beneficiary or withhold and pray for them. Where you are not sure, go back to God and ask for direction on what to do so as to ensure you fulfill God’s intended purpose in the circumstance.
In any case, anything you see that runs contrary to the word of God should not be proclaimed but prayed against such that the will of God shall prevail. Besides, you should exhibit faith in all that you see and show your trust in God. In Numbers 13, ten of the twelve representatives of Israel tribes sent to spy Canaan, the promised land, came to give a report and conclusion that runs contrary to the promise of God. This is apparently calling God a liar as they said Israelites could not posses the land God had told them will be theirs! For this, the ten men never got to the land but more importantly, they also led several hundreds of thousands astray as those never made it to the land because the Lord prevented them for not believing his word!
The year is grinding to an end and God may reveal several secrets to you. It is important you do not give any report contrary to the word of God. If you see anything that is apparently contradictory, go back to God before making any announcement, if you must make it at all.
What is of utmost importance is that we should always seek the face of God on any revelation He shows you so that His purpose may be revealed. Do not say like some people do, that if God revealed it to you, then He must want you to deliver it to others.
Remember God showed some things to John but asked him not to write them so that they may not be revealed to others in Revelation 10:4 (KJV), “And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.”
Prayer point: Father reveal more of Yourself to me and give me the grace to always seek your direction on every secret you reveal to me in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
