TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH
Bible Reading: Numbers 21-25; Mark 7:14-37
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” – John 14:16-17 (KJV)
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to make you a success in every area of your life. Success is a product of the light and understanding that He (The Holy Spirit) brings to you. When Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit in our text, He introduced Him as the Spirit of Truth. In John 15:26 He told His disciples, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.”
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to unveil truths to you and bring the reality of Christ Jesus into your life via His Word. Truth means reality and it is truth that makes for freedom in any area of life. Jesus said in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth , and the truth shall make you free.” Truth is not the opposite of a lie, it is a function of understanding, light or knowledge that someone has about something at a given time. The primary work of the Holy Spirit’s work in your life is to progressively bring you into a greater understanding as He opens you up to the realities of things that the ordinary mind might not yet have known or conceived. The way He does this is by giving you insights and revelations concerning life as you look into, hear and meditate the Word of God because Jesus is the Word of God revealed to us. Jesus said in John 15:26, “… He will testify of me.”
John 1:1-3 (Message) says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” These verses reveal that Jesus is the Word of God and everything in existence (both visible and invisible) was created through Jesus the Word of God. It then means that through the Word of God, the Holy Spirit can reveal to you the truth or reality of how everything in existence works; even things that haven’t yet been discovered. Your role is to open up your mind to the Spirit of God and be more conscious of Him in everything that you do because Jesus said He will ‘always’ be with you.
Refuse to accept confusion because you cannot be stranded in any area of life. You have the Holy Ghost and He is bringing light to you and as you walk in that light, victory is sure.
