TOPIC: A LIVING SANCTUARY
Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 26-28; John 17
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)
As a believers did you ‘know’ that your physical body is the very temple or sanctuary of the Holy Spirit? Often when we preach the Gospel to the unsaved and tell them to receive Jesus as their Lord, we tell them that if they do, He will come and ‘dwell’ in their ‘hearts!’
Sometimes when this truth is preached, some are merely just assenting to it. We rarely take time to meditate on this powerful truth we share with others and allow it to become our own consciousness. It is truly powerful to know that God dwells in you.
In our text Apostle Paul exclaimed, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple …” He was perplexed that they weren’t conscious of the truth that their physical bodies were temples of God. They were carrying God! The consciousness that Christ is tabernacled in your very mortal flesh is what keeps sin and every form of sickness out of your body. It doesn’t matter what that disease is, keep muttering it to yourself morning, noon and night, “My body is God’s dwelling place. He lives in me!”
The world doesn’t see Jesus, so it is difficult for them to believe in Him but as a child of God, one of the things the Spirit of God does for you at the new birth is to usher in the presence of God into your life. At that moment you just know that He isn’t dead but alive in you! Jesus, in John 14:19-20 (KJV) says, “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you”
Jesus is in you right NOW as a child of God.
If you won’t allow any man or woman to walk right into your physical church building and desecrate it by urinating or defecating in the middle of it then you shouldn’t allow any devil or demon to come into your body and desecrate it with sickness. You have the authority and power to keep them out.
Allow this truth of your body being the temple of God to sink right into your consciousness as you yield your body to Him and refuse to allow sickness or disease to reside in your body.
DECLARE: I boldly declare that my body is the temple of the living God. I am God’s mobile tabernacle here on earth.
