Topic: Overcome by the Word of your testimony
Bible Reading: Micah 6-7; Revelation 12.
Memory Verse: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.” Proverbs 18:21 (AMP). This is a profound statement that affects the life of every human being on earth particularly if you can speak. Whatever you say will impact your life. Do you speak evil or good words about yourself? They are like seeds planted on a fertile soil, whether carelessly or carefully, they will germinate and bear fruits. That is what the above verse explains to us; you will bear the consequences of your word.
The important part is that words have time to grow just like seeds and so whatever you sowed years ago will be reflecting in your life today having grown and now bearing fruit. So, concerning the challenges that you have and the difficulties you are facing, beside the actions you have taken to resolve them, what words are you speaking to them? Do you have the belief you will overcome and you are talking and taking actions along that line or you keep telling yourself that the problem will over shadow you though you may be taking actions contrary to that? You need to align your words with your expectations because the Lord Jesus says in Matthew 12:37 (KJV), “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Yes this will hold on the day of judgment but it is also valid on earth.
Though scientists are still researching the impact of spoken words on individual lives, some preliminary reports show a Harvard study revealing impact of hidden words. This is just coming up but God revealed this to us over two thousand years ago. The finding shows positive and negative spoken words as opposed to neutral words had impact on lives of people.
This is important to note that one of the fiery weapons of war anyone has is the spoken word and you can use this against your adversary, the devil. The Bible says in Revelation 12:11 (KJV), “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” You should use your spoken words to overcome every challenge the devil brings your way. David spoke the word against Goliath that he would cut off his head ( 1 Samuel 17:46 KJV) though at that time he had no spear with him. However, his words had gone ahead and it fulfilled the purpose for which it was spoken as he ended up using Goliath’s sword to cut off his head! (1 Samuel 17:51).
As a disciple of Christ, you have the special advantage of the blood of Jesus as a weapon because that blood had been shed for you on the cross and so has given you victory already. All you need is to enforce the victory by your spoken words and actions to follow. But, remember, that this is valid as a child of God. Have you given your life to Jesus? If not, please repent now and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and His blood shall begin to speak for you.
Action point: Speak to the situation confronting you and believe it is done according to your words and the Lord will back you up.
