“And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement”. – Romans 5:11(KJV)
What a great joy we have to know that we have passed over from judgement to life, from failure to success, from sin to holiness, from darkness to light and from unrighteousness to righteousness. This is the joy that the human mind cannot decipher. It is beyond human anatomy. It has its route in the saving grace that Jesus brought to us. Hear what the word of God has to say “By whom (Jesus Christ) also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” – Romans 5:17(KJV). We have received justification by his blood and saved from wrath not by our righteousness but by his grace which he provided through his death.
His death, His atonement, His resurrection and our justification are all products of the grace of God. “For if by one man’s offence death reign by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ”. – Romans 5:17. We could not achieve any righteousness of our own but righteousness was entrusted on us by Christ Jesus. For we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans3:23). The law insisted on righteousness which we were unable to attain, “but now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believed: for there is no difference”. – Romans 3: 21-22(KJV).
Conclusively concerning the endowment of this righteousness the bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21(KJV) “For he (God) hath made him(Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. The endowment of righteousness is an act of grace and it is the gift of God. As it clearly stated in Romans 5:18-19(KJV) “Therefore as by the offence of one judgement came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous”. Hence we are “being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. – Romans 3:24. My dear reader the grace of God has consummated redemption for us, there will be no excuse why you should not take advantage of this and be saved and live a triumphant life.
Prayer: Father I thank you from the depth of my heart for making your grace available for me in Jesus name.
