“So then every one of us shall give account himself to God” – Romans 14:12(KJV)
Giving account is a daily occurrence at work place. Assignment are given and inmost cases you are called to give account of the project. You cannot be a customer of a bank without having an account with the bank. It is only when you open account with a bank that you can be called a customer. Your account is either in credit or in debit. In credit means the bank is owing you while a debit balance means you are indebted to the bank. To each and every one of us is given a measure of divine gift to enable us trade successfully. God deposited a considerable amount of resources within us to trade with in our day to day living. God expects us to render account on how we traded with the resources at our disposal. An individual is expected to put a watch over his account to ensure that it does not go into debit. It is your responsibility to manage the deposit and withdrawal from the account to ensure that you do not suffer the embarrassment associate with an overdrawn account. It is in this regard that Romans 12:1(KJV) says “I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” It is your responsibility to present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. This entails daily monitoring of your actions to ensure that your life is not filled with the negative (sin), which leads to death. Every one of us at the judgement seat of Christ will render account of our stewardship. How much of God occupied us. Out of the twenty four hours allocated to you daily how many hours did you spend in quality time with God? God is not mocked, whatever a man sow’s that shall he reap. The parable of the talents in Matt. 25: 15-24 clearly explain our dealing with God in terms of his gift in our life. In another vein we are to give account of what we did with the death of Christ and redemption freely given to us. How did you respond to the various effort made to draw you nearer to God.
There will be no lawyer standing as your attorney at the judgement seat of Christ. All evidences of your atrocious living will be presented. You that have thrown your account into debit through riotous life, the mercies of God are still available for you to make amend and put your account in order. Despite that negative balance in the account, if you continue to deposit without withdrawing, the debit balance overtime will wipe out leaving you with a credit balance.
Father, grant me the grace to know that I will be accountable unto God for my life.
