“But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” – 1 Corinthians 1:24
The word of God is powerful and carries creative power. God created the world by his word. The bible says that God calls into existence the things that be not as if they were. God created the world through the instrumentality of His word. Genesis 1: 3(KJV) “And God said, let there be light: and there was light.” In John 1:1,3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” The bible further says in Psalm 136:5(KJV) “To him that by wisdom made the heavens” Again in Proverbs 3:19(KJV) the bible says “The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens”. From the above quoted scriptures it is clear that God created the world by His word and wisdom. This two were instrumental in all creations. The bible in John chapter one refers to Christ as the word of God and the light that lightens up darkness. If Christ then be the word of God it then follow that He is the Word spoken of in John chapter one. If all things were made by him and nothing was made without him it therefore follows that in reference to proverbs 3:19 Jesus Christ who is the Word in John chapter one is the wisdom by which God founded the earth. The creative power of God’s word contain power and wisdom, the same became flesh and dwell among men. The knowledge of the scriptures is what makes Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. God’s word is light. Jesus is also referred to as the light of men whose appearance shatters darkness. John 1:9 says concerning Jesus Christ “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world”. Paul expounding further in 1 Corinthians 1:30 said “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” My dear reader my prayer is that the good God will open the eyes of your understanding to enable comprehend the extent of God’s love which passes human knowledge.
