“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body” – 1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV
The world is full of permissiveness. Apostle Paul was referring to this in our passage of 1 Cor 6:12-13 that though all things may be allowed under the law of man but he will not do them if they are not allowed under the law of God. We need to recognize that Satan is roaring everywhere on earth for whom to devour. (1 Pet 5:8). Satan is not going about with physical weapon of guns or bombs but with subtle messages in music, adverts, drama, dressing etc that will appeal to our senses and will draw people to do what is against the precepts of God.
The word of God is clear that no man should make love to another woman unless they are joined in holy matrimony. The society on the other hand through subtle appeal sanctions sexual intimacy in form of dating, knowing each other etc. that may lead to sexual intercourse.
However the word of God is unambiguous that such an act is a sin against one’s body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV says “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body”.
It amounts to knowingly taking poison. Because such an immoral act causes various evil spirits to be passed from one body to another. This is besides the medical downside of HIV and other sexually transmitted disease.
On the medical side, even using condoms does not fully immunize you against the transmission of diseases as it can fail. So why do what is clearly against the instruction of the manufacturer of the body ( God)!
Prayer: Father, grant me the grace to run away from all forms of sexual sin and keep myself clean for my own benefit and to the glory of God in Jesus name.
