For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 1 Corinthians 9:16 KJV
Everyone who is a Christian is expected to love. The Lord Jesus Christ enjoins us to love everyone including our enemies. Luke 6:27 KJV “But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you”.
In fact he summarised the Ten Commandments in Matthew 22:37-40 KJV
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophet”.
The best way one can show that he loves his neighbour is to show him the way to eternal life by preaching the gospel of Christ to him. This is a lasting legacy that one can give to anyone.
Apostle Paul recognizes this so well that he places a curse on himself if he fails to show others the way. 1 Corinthians 9:16 KJV “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel” .
We all need to go out and preach the gospel of Christ to others so that the world can be a better place for all. Imagine if all our neighbours are true Christians, what kind of peace would exist there?
Preaching the gospel of Christ is a direct way of getting wisdom. (Prov 11:30).
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to preach your gospel regularly in Jesus name.
