“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty.” 2 Corinthians 3:17 KJVIf the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36. Hence everyone who professes to be a child of God by Christ Jesus is free. Our freedom is from bondage and cleavages of Satan. This freedom is obtained when you give your life to Christ and you make a covenant to forgo all sinful acts. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”So all forms of bondages are gone and a new freedom is obtained. However that freedom is obtained by submission to the Holy Spirit. You need to allow the Holy Spirit to direct you so that you will be doing only things that are of God.The freedom in Christ is not a freedom to commit sin but a freedom to be led by the Spirit of God. If you are led by the Spirit of God, you will hate iniquity, and love the things of God. You will naturally run away from everything that will draw you back to your old ways and move closer to things that will draw you to God. It is often said birds of the same feather flock together. You will thus attract more things of God and will naturally repel things that will draw you away from God. You will no longer be attracted by the trappings of the worldly things as the inner being in you will naturally long for obedience to the word of God. The Spirit of God will begin to order your steps and you find yourself naturally gravitating towards godly things. So your liberty in Christ is in the leading of the Spirit as you have submitted your will to the will of Christ so your liberty is now to render services to God and His people. These things would be done naturally because of the in dwelling Spirit in you hence, the word of God in our memory verse “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Corinthians 3:17 KJV.Prayer: Father fill me afresh with your Spirit and make me free from the entanglements of this world.
