“Neither give place to the devil’’ Ephesians 4:27(KJV).
The devil is an opportunist and a usurper. He has a strong manipulative tendency. When he tempts us to sin or disobey God, he may front the pleasure of such action but not the consequences. As an opportunist that he is, his ultimate goal is to gain control over our lives and destiny. Give him a room and he takes over the whole house and become the landlord while you become his tenant. He will stop at nothing to assume control and exercise dominion over his victim. The bible warns us not to give him a place.
In our personal lives, our marriages, in our business and the church we must be careful not to give satan a place. Apostle Peter warns: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 2 Peter 5:8 (KJV). He comes around our lives, our offices, our business centres, our churches with the intention to gain access to our lives so he can destroy us. Care must be taken not to give him access into our lives or our homes. We must learn to slam the door against him. Apostle Peter further advise that we resist the devil steadfast in the faith (1Peter 5:9). One could give the devil access when he fails to bridle his tongue. Another way one can give satan access is through unforgiveness, malice, strife, envy, unfaithfulness in one’s financial life or in one’s marital life. One can give satan access into one’s life or marriage. Faithful tithing and honest financial life closes the door at the devil. Faithfulness to one’s spouse also closes the door against the devil over one’s marriage.
Sound prayer life and commitment to the word of God will help one to slam the door against satan. Fear, lust, unforgiveness, uncontrolled anger, malice, strife and covetousness all give the devil access to a person’s life. The scripture warns that we should not allow the sun to go down on our anger so we do not give the devil access.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to close every door that gives stand access into my life and my marriage.
