“Be strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded” – 2 Chronicles 15:7(KJV)
It takes a heart that is strong and firm to stand for the truth and declare the counsel of God. When we commit ourselves to do the will of God we openly declare our enmity to the forces of darkness. When we declare that we are born again the whole forces of hell mark you out as a target. So we need to be strong in our resolve to serve and do the will of God. Christianity is an open declaration of war against the forces of evil. We need courage to pursue divine agenda. God told Joshua to be strong and of a good courage (Joshua 1:6).
The scripture of toady says “let not your hands be weak”. How can our hands be weak? Our hands can be weak when we see the truth but because of the personality involved we bypass the truth. Our hands can be weak when we bend the truth because our person is involved. Our hands can be weak when out of what people will say we are unable to openly declare our Christian faith in our work place. Our hands can be weak when due to our past mistake we cannot preach to people we work with. In the scripture of today we are admonished to be strong. We must be ready at all times to declare where we belong and preach the message of reconciliation to anyone we come in contact with.
Doing the will of God pays. Serving the Almighty is the greatest investment any man can invest in. God rewards abundantly those who are selflessly committed to serving him. The LORD said in Isaiah 45:19(KJV) “I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right”. God is saying for a man to work and receive wages is right. There are inestimable benefits in serving the LORD. These benefits are spelt out in the word of God. In Exodus 23: 25-26(KJV) it is written “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and the water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in the land: the number of thy days I will fulfil”. What else can you asked for? Colossians 3:24(KJV) says “Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ”. We have among the promised rewards God’s provision (bless thy bread and water), sickness-free life (take sickness away from the midst of thee), no miscarriage (Cast their young), fruitfulness (nor be barren), longevity (the number of your days I will fulfil). These are rewards money cannot buy.
My dear reader SERVING THE LORD PAYS.
Prayer: Oh’ Lord grant me the grace to be committed to serving you diligently all the days of my life.
