“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him….”- 2 Chronicles 16:9(KJV)
The eyes of our God is all-seeing and God is all-knowing. Nothing is hid from the Almighty. The Psalmist says “whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, thou art there” – Psalm 139:7-8(KJV). Nothing is hidden from God, even before we consummate our plans he knows. While men are meeting to plan evil deeds the Almighty sees and knows their plan. God uses His all-seeing and all-knowing to the advantage of those who put their trust in Him. It is this quality that Job talked about in Job 5:12(KJV) “He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise”. Most times, God delivers us from the wicked plan of the enemies and we are ignorant of it. What happens when someone misses his flight because he was delayed by traffic only to hear the announcement from the radio on his way home that the same aircraft he supposed to have travel with crashed with no survivor. The eyes of theLORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth. God is Omni-present and has knowledge of everything and uses this to shew himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect towards Him. God wages war against the enemy on behalf of His children. He deploys the angels in battle to protect His children and forestall the wicked plan of the enemy. The bible says “Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: darkness and the light are both alike to thee” – Psalm 139:12(KJV). It is because God sees through the darkness that enable Him to see the activity and wicked plans of darkness and protect His own. That is why God says “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper…” Isaiah 54:17a(KJV) Why will weapon formed against thee prosper when the all-seeing saw the design and construction of such weapon. He frustrates such weapons by His mighty power. He is the one that makes the diviners mad and turns the counsel of the wise to foolish and backward.
God fights with darkness for he created it (Genesis 3-4, Exodus 14:19). The activities of the dark world is only hidden from man but is clear before God because He that created darkness can see through it. My dear reader you can see why serving God is a great privilege and it pays.
Prayer: Father, thank you for making me a recipient of light and a son in the kingdom.
