“Who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time” – 1 Timothy 2: 6(KJV)
This is the due time to testify of the work of redemption that Christ did at the cross to offer humanity an escape route from the destructive power of sin. That Christ died to set us free from the strangle hold of sin and position us for excellence is incontestable not even by forces operating in the dark. A ransom is money or prize (goods or material exchange) paid for the freeing of a hostage. The whole world was taken captive by the forces of darkness. A prize was put on to be paid for the rescue of the hostages. The prize in question is the blood of a righteous man. However the bible says in Romans 3:23(KJV); “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. Hear what the bible further said concerning Jesus Christ: “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God” – Romans 3:25(KJV). Christ was the true ransom needed for the redemption of man. Having completed our redemption, He justified us freely by his grace. He gave us a clean bill as free from any offence. Who can condemn he whom the Lord has justified? See Romans 3;24(KJV) – “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”.
It should be noted that Christ was a willing sacrifice propelled by love. He was a willing ransom hence the bible said in Job 33:24(KJV): “Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down the pit: I have found a ransom”.
My dear reader Jesus Christ through his suffering and the death at the cross paid the ransom placed on us. By this we are freely justified by his blood. The question then is why has humanity continued to reject this wonderful love extended to us. It is the sin factor that has led to spiritual blindness and deafness. It is my prayer therefore that the Almighty God will remove the spiritual scales of religion placed on our eyes that is frustrating us from seeing clearly. It is my prayer that God will reach out to you to quicken your spirit to receive him into your life.
