…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 7/10/2016

“And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God” 2 Chronicles 33:12(KJV).

Wow! How unsearchable are the ways of our God? The scriptures talks about the love of Chris that passes all knowledge (Eph 3:19). God’s love is very deep and is past finding out. His love is His person. God is love. The Psalmist caught this revelation when he wrote Psalm 103:8-9(KJV)  “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger” in another verse of same scripture he wrote “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies” Psalm 103: 3-4(KJV). Our God is awesome, His ways are unfathomable. King Manasseh lived two lives in one lifetime. The first part of his life can best be describe as polluted and rot. He did most abominable thing than any of the kings before him. He practiced astrology and astronomy, caused his children to pass through the fire, build groves and worshipped all the host of heaven, used enchantment and witchcraft, reared up the altars of Baalim which Hezekiah destroyed, he build altars to the hosts of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. “He wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger” 2 Chronicles 33: 6b(KJV). He made Judah to do worse in idolatry than the the heathen nations whom the LORD drove away.

After these terrible abominations God moved to afflict Manasseh for all his abominable acts. Being taken to captivity Manasseh sought God. It is a fact that many people have to experience great affliction and calamity before they will seek the Lord and turn to him with a whole heart. How much troubles and pain they could save themselves if they would do such seeking first. The Psalmist has this to say about God “For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for live; weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning” Psalm 30:5(NKJV). This scriptures appropriately described God as it relates with His dealing with Manasseh. Manasseh humbled himself greatly before God. All about Manasseh clearly illustrates God’s disposition to a humble heart.

My dear reader the lesson we learn from this is that God’s love is unfathomable. His love can still accommodate us no matter how deep we have sank. Irrespective of our deep involvement in occultic practice, acts of wickedness and even witchcraft His mercy remains ever enduring and His love past finding out. It is no wonder that His love can compel Him to take the form of man to salvage us from the satanic crushes and the power of sin. There is still a place for you in His love, pick up the broken pieces of your life and return to Him and He will embrace you and welcome you home.

GOD LOVES YOU BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION. PLEASE RETURN!!

Prayer: Father I thank you for your love for me that is unfathomable.
