“Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we will arise and build.” – Nehemiah 2: 20A(KJV)
Continuing from yesterday, we shall be looking at the remaining two phrases of our scriptural test above (“he will prosper” and “we will arise and build”). After Nehemiah has put forward the power behind their mission, he confidently proclaim that the God of heaven, by whose power they are building, will prosper them. Nehemiah was confident like the three Hebrew children in Babylon “….our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king” Daniel 3:17(KJV). David also follow the same principle of spiritual warfare. We must demonstrate a level of confidence that will intimidate our enemies. They must know and see your strong faith and confidence in your God. Let the enemy know that the one who created the heavens and the earth is able to carry you through. The bible admonish us that no matter the situation we find ourselves, not to castaway our confidence which has great recompense of reward. At this stage you begin to declare the capability of your God. Present the scriptures of God’s promise upon which your faith is based. The enemy actually has the dog mentality. A dog will size up an individual from the reaction on his face. When the dog cannot detect fear or fright he barks down and can be easily tamed. “I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open your mouth wide, and I will fill it” Psalm 81:10(KJV). By this, God is saying I have the power to deliver you, declare a thing and I will confirm it. A silent mouth will result in a closed destiny. The Lord is saying that we should declare our position boldly and He will bring it to pass.
We shall conclude the last phrase tomorrow.
Prayer: Father, thank you for granting me insight on how to confront my adversary.
