“That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life” – Titus 3:7(KJV)
The grace of God was a major factor in the salvation of our soul. The bible states in Ephesians 2:5(KJV): “Even when we were dead in sin, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved). Again in the same chapter 2 verse 8, the scriptures further reiterated: “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Grace is defined as unconditional love and undeserved favour of God to man. It is the unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration. It is on the platform of this undeserved and unmerited favour that redemption was conceived and delivered to man. Such level of love and favour extended to man can only be conceived and executed by divine wisdom. Only the Almighty God can extend such gesture of love and favour.
The gravity of this unfathomable divine disposition is what Paul was communicating in Ephesians 3:19(KJV): “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.” The depth of God’s love is above human conception, thought and imagination. It cannot be adequately conceptualized by human knowledge. It is this love that conceived and delivered grace for our salvation. This is why the scripture says, “even when we were dead in sin, he quickened us together with Christ”. God’s work of grace is properly captured in Romans 5:8(KJV): “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” We can rightly say that it was grace that found us. That great love of God and his unmerited favour also became the platform for our justification. It became necessary that the same grace that saved us also became our instrument of justification. Love sent Jesus to die for our sin. It is that same love for our justification.
God’s wisdom is past finding out. It is no wonder then that the bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21(KJV): “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God by him.” God sacrificed his righteous son in our place in order to endow us with righteousness, hence our justification. The full penalty of sin was adequately paid for. It is very clear that the whole package of redemption revolves around the grace of God.
My dear reader it will be suicidal for a man to live all through his life without obtaining the mercy of God and His grace. The only way that grace can be manifest in our life is via the salvation of our soul. It is when we come to Christ repenting of our sins and sought his forgiveness that the grace of God can be said to have manifested in your life. YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN to be a recipient of this grace. It will be foolhardy for any man to die without Christ after all that has been put in place for the salvation of our souls.
Prayer: Father I pray for the readers of this write up who have not found you that your hand will extend to them for the deliverance of their soul.
