“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel” – Hebrews 12:24 ( KJV)
In Gen 4:8-10, the bible shows how Cain killed his brother Abel and the blood cried unto God until God avenged his death on Cain by cursing him. That was in the old covenant but the story is different in the case of the new covenant when Jesus was killed and hanged on the cross.
The death of Jesus signified a new beginning as his blood speaks mercy, Grace, renewal and cleansing from sin. 1 John 1:7 (KJV) says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”.
Unlike the blood of Abel that brought about vengeance, the blood of Jesus even cleanses from sin and brings about life instead of death. Hence the bible says in Hebrews 12:24 (KJV), “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”.
Thus the blood speaks peace into our lives as our sins are forgiven as in Colossians 1:14 (KJV), “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins”.
We that had been lost are found. In Ephesians 2:13 (KJV) the scriptures says “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”, our heart of stone are exchanged for heart of flesh as stated in Ezekiel 36:26 (KJV), “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” And our death are replaced by life as seen in John 6:53 (KJV): “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you”.
Therefore to have peace with all men will entail entering into a new covenant with Jesus and surrendering our all to him. This covers our worries, lack, abundance, health etc and we will experience an unusual tranquility which only Jesus can give.
So whenever any challenge comes, do what is expected of you in the circumstance and then hand everything else to Jesus in prayer. Thus the bible says in Philippians 4:6 (KJV) “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Prayer: Father, help me to surrender all to you so that I may be filled with peace at all times.
