Bible Reading: Psalm 73: 1-28
“Truly God is God to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee” – Psalm 73:1, 25(KJV).
Without hope in the future, we lack power in the present according to John C. Maxwell. Asaph, one of the Psalmists, came to a vivid conclusion about God’s Unchanging nature and here is his absolute resolution: “truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart” – (Psalm 73:1). Why this resolve? Just like our present era, Asaph, on the face value, saw the wicked prospering, and things seems to be going smoothly and rosy for them in all ramifications. While on the part of the righteous ones like himself, were suffering and tough terrain. This initially caused him sleepless nights and would have led to his losing confidence and faith in Yahweh. However when he had an encounter with God in the temple and saw the destructive end of the wicked his perspective to life and his resolution changed (v 17).
Hear me friends! Don’t let that your judgment over your life in comparison to that of the sinners cause you the loss of confidence in God. Don’t let your lack of admission into higher Institution, viable employment, a loving and caring spouse, children (or a male child), denial of VISA to travel abroad, promising and failing, illness etc. cause you to lose your trust and confidence in God. Your One and only source of joy and peace is God.. Patiently hold on and wait upon the LORD, sooner than you expect your joy shall come and all shall rejoice with you (Amen).
Prayer: Father I know and believe you are all I need for all my need to be met. Help me to hold on and patiently wait on you to bring my expectation to fruition.
