Bible Reading: Psalm 76: 1-12
“In Judah is God known: His name is great in Israel. In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion” (vv.1-2).
Actually, our God is known in Judah for “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a law giver from between his feet, until Shiloh come: and unto him shall the gathering of the people be” – Genesis 49:10(KJV). Furthermore, Judah means praise, and God inhabits the praise of his people. “When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language. Judah (Praise) was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.”
Truly God’s name is great in Israel. Abraham met Melchisedec whom he offered tithe, whose name is King of Salem which is King of Peace (Hebrew 7:2). When David drove away the Jebusites, he moved the seat of government to Jerusalem. Jerusalem became the official capital of Israel, hence it is called the City of David and it represents the physical Zion. Solomon built the great tabernacle of God in Jerusalem. Zion is God’s dwelling place indeed. Zion is the city of our God, it is the mountain of his holiness, it is beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth. This is mount Zion. Zion is the dwelling place of the Almighty God, it is the gathering of God’s people in his sanctuary rendering praise unto Him.
In our present dispensation, Zion is the body of Christ in gathering. It is the teaming population of the redeemed in any particular location and gathering. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:20(KJV). QqqaqaQqqqDue to the presence of God in Zion a lot of things goes on mysteriously in Zion. Zion is the church of God which has a lot of personalities in attendance as vividly described in Hebrew 12:22-24(KJV): “But ye are come unto mount Sion and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. To the general assembly and the church of the first born, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all and to the spirit of just men made perfect and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Zion is incontestably the dwelling place of our God. When we come to Zion we appear before God. No man comes to Zion and leave the same because the angels are busy releasing the blood of sprinkling on all in attendance.
In Zion we have the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. The blood of Abel speaks vengeance. The blood of sprinkling speaks Passover to every arrow of evil against us. The blood of the everlasting covenant speaks of mercy and forgiveness. We must come to Zion with understanding of these personalities in Zion, in order to benefit by knowledge the tremendous power in Zion.
Prayer: Father grant me the full conception of the attendants in Zion so I can approach Zion with respect and awesomeness.
