Bible Reading: Psalm 87:1 – 7
“The Lord shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there” – Psalm 87:6 (KJV).
We know that God alone by His wisdom laid the foundation of the world. The Scripture aptly captures this: “the earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” – Psalm 24:1. This above scriptures helps us to see that God, since He created everything, could single-handedly take a decision as to where to locate anything or what to do per time. He thus decided to establish His own foundation on the holy mountain.
The gates of Zion is loved by God and those people who have had something to do with the gates of Zion have great and lofty things to say about the city of God. While God wants all men saved, only those whose names are found in His register shall eventually make it to the holy city of God- “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,” Hebrews 12:22(KJV).
God wants all men saved, but not all men will be saved. “I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there” (verse 4). Can God say this about you that you have been born of Him? The Lord after salvation writes the names in His own register. It is therefore for your good to make up your mind to believe in Jesus Christ before it is too late because.. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” – Rev. 20:15.
Prayer: Eternal Father, help me never to miss the once in a life time opportunity of salvation in Jesus name.
