Bible Reading: Psalm 99:1 –9
“Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them” – Psalm 99:6(KJV)
The hand that brought Aaron and Moses together as a team is not One that we should hold with levity. You recall that the children of Israel were in the house of bondage for 430 years, however, upon their cry to the Lord, He in turn beam His search light and eventually found a capable hand in Moses. He did not jump at the work because he thought that he was not capable as his deficiency stared at him. But whenever God intends to use a vessel, He arranges a correct hand with which the assignment could be delivered smoothly. Hence, He made Aaron available to make a better combination for the team (Exodus 4:10-14). At the time the Israelites were living Egypt and they came to the Red sea and the host of Pharaoh was behind them, Moses cried and God spoke (Exodus 14:13-15).
Samuel on his own was also a man whose parent waited for some time before the result could come. He was donated to the LORD by his parent and he became a formidable voice among the people. He stands between the people and God. He was such a powerful influence in the land of Israel that his words never fall to the ground. He did not condone evil in his days just as Moses and Aaron. (1 Samuel 7:7-13).
All that we mentioned above and more could be done by these people simply because they were able to keep the testimonies and ordinance that God gave to them. “He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies and the statutes that He gave them” – Psalm 99:7 (Amplified). These three people were just like you and I whom God commissioned to stand in the gap for Him in their generation. What stood them out was the urgency with which they kept the ordinance of God. How many times has God spoken to you His Word and you are prompt at obeying it? If you want to be among those who shall hold the hand of God in this passing generation, then resolve to live by the dictates of His Word and nothing less. We cannot fulfill our own part and God fails on His part.
Friends, what are the things which God has been telling you to do? That possibly may be the reason why you call Him time and time again without result. God is still in the business of looking for those who shall hold His hand in their generation. Are you available for Him?
Prayer: Lord, help me to be a trustworthy vessel in this generation in Jesus name.
