…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Psalm 117:1- 2

“For his merciful kindness is great towards us: the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD” – Psalm 117:2(KJV).

Truly, God’s merciful kindness is great towards us. I have always wondered if the same God that led Israel in the wilderness is the same we are serving today. The God who opened the ground and swallowed Korah, Dathan and Abiran for rebellion. The one who sent fiery serpents after Israel due to sin among the people, is that the same God today that watches while elders and pastors put hand in the offering bag and collect offering money fraudulently? The Holy Ghost that struck down Ananias and Sapphira for lying, can that be the same Holy Ghost operating in our time? Yes the same God of the wilderness church is the same today and the same Holy Spirit that struck Ananias and Sapphira is the same today.

In the era of the wilderness church they operated under the Law that was like a school master but today we are under grace. God sees us through the eyes of mercy – Christ, who is our advocate that is always interceding for us before God the father. Those of us in the era of the dispensation of grace are products of God’s love and mercy. God’s merciful kindness is great.

The truth of the LORD endures forever. Truth is a major attribute of God. That attribute remains as long as God remains. God is eternal, therefore Truth is eternal. Jesus said in John 14: 6(KJV) “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.” We can therefore conclude that Jesus Christ, who is the Truth, is also the Word which was in the beginning with God (John 1:1-3). The word of God is truth, which we can believe in and it will not fail. God cannot lie therefore His word cannot be anything other truth. Truth remains constant and cannot be altered. Facts can change but truth remain constant forever. What this means is that whatever the word of God says is true and cannot fail because truth is infallible. Truly, the truth of the LORD endures forever.
Mercy and Truth brought salvation and delivered redemption to man. Righteousness upheld it and peace is its product. When mercy and truth mixes with righteousness, they produce peace and create a peaceful habitation because that is the dwelling place of the righteous. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of these great godly virtues.
Dear friend, for you to be a recipient of God’s merciful kindness you must embrace the truth which is Jesus Christ. God’s merciful kindness produces divine favour on our path. God’s favour settles our age long struggles. It transforms our life and changes our status positively. The bible says that in God’s favour is life (Psalm 30:5). See God”s mercy in action “Come now and let us reason together, saith the LORD, though your sin be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they red like crimson, they shall be as wool” – Isaiah 1:18(KJV). God is merciful and desire our freedom from sin. That is what brought salvation – the love of God. Mercy says, “Come unto me, all that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” -Matt. 11:28(KJV). It is God’s desire to give you rest from the laden of heavy labour that has produced very little. Stop working like an elephant with the result of an ant.

Prayer: Father thank you for making me a recipient of your mercy and truth.
