Bible Reading: Psalm 118:1- 29
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD” – Psalm 118:17
This is a statement of assertion and faith, I strongly believe, is demonstrated in this statement. When we are busy declaring the works of God we are serving God. One of the benefits of serving God is longevity. The LORD will keep them that serve him from trouble and will prolong their days. The word says in Psalm 91:15-16(KJV), “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” God jealously protect those who serve him. Among his promises for service is His fulfilling the number of their days (Exodus 23:25-26).
Service to God is a reflection of your love for God. When your service is genuine and you are committed, God will ensure that you dwell peacefully and in health. He promised to preserve your going out and your coming in. God’s ability to protect his own is not in doubt. One area of service that God’s promise of protection hold strong is the area of soul winning and witnessing for Christ. God’s love for man necessitated the coming of Christ to die at the cross. That love for the soul of men is very strong in the heart of the Almighty God. So any man with passion for souls fall into the category of men that is heavily guarded and protected by God. God ensures that they live to declare his good work of salvation. Jesus rose from the dead and declared “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” -Matthew 28:18(KJV). He further stated in Luke 10:19(KJV): “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” The messenger of God is heavily protected to deliver the divine mandate. That is why this scriptures of Luke 10:19 agrees with Isaiah 54:17(KJV): “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper….”
Dear friend, it is very important that you run to God for coverage in this wicked and perverse world. These are perilous times that requires you to be protected under divine cover. Don’t let yourself loose to satanic assault and harassment. “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” -Proverbs 18: 10 (KJV). My case is a living testimony of God’s protection over those in active service for him. The hand of God delivered me from a ghastly motor accident nobody believed I will survive. Further, doctor’s verdict was that I may not be able to walk again and even advised me to buy crutches which I did. By God’s mighty power he delivered me wholly. I am alive, I can walk and healthy to carry on with the soul winning exercise which was the anger of the Devil and his agents. The LORD sent me and no power on earth can stop me.
Prayer: Father my whole trust is on your ability to protect me from the evil world around me.
