Bible Reading: Psalm 136:1-26
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27 KJV
Employees work to be paid at agreed intervals which could be daily, weekly or monthly. When it’s time to pay, the record of work would have been collated and the time spent and/ or work done would be analyzed to determine what each individual is entitled to. At the time of pay, some would get pleasant surprises as they appear to have done quite well and some of their friends would be surprised that they got so much and vice versa.
For everyone on earth, there will be ultimate pay day. This will be on the last day. The bible says in Hebrews 9:27 (KJV): “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” The judgement day is the pay day that everyone must collect his reward. The type of life that one lives on earth will determine the kind of pay, he will get on the last day.
While the scale of individual salary is known, the exact pay will depend on your actions here on earth. Romans 6:23 KJV says: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
So what you will get on the pay day depends on who is your master on earth. Is it the devil or the Lord Jesus Christ? If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour or if you have backslidden, you need to repent immediately to avoid a disgraceful pay of going to hell on the last day.
The beauty of the Christian race is that every living soul has the opportunity of amending his/her ways while alive, but that chance would be lost immediately he/she dies. This is why the word of God says in Ecclesiastes 9:4 (KJV): “For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”
Prayer: Father, have mercy on me, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life in Jesus name.
