“Whom do men say that l the son of man am?” – Matt. 16:13
The genesis of our Christian walk is hinged on right personal answer to this question. Jesus saw the need of personal knowledge of him and therefore posed the probing question to His disciples.
I am asking the same question today and I mean no harm. Who do you say Jesus is? Who is he in relation to our Father God, the world and you in particular? Why must you have a clear knowledge of him?
- To settle God’s controversy with his people. ”For the lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no…..knowledge of God in the land.” – Hosea4:1.
- To escape destruction. ”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hos4:6.
Christ is the saviour and failure to know him is dangerous in this wicked land. - To have eternal life. ‘‘this is life eternal that they may know thee..and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.” Jn.17:3.
To Peter Jesus said, ”flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven”.
Prayer: Dear father, I thank you for sending Jesus your Son to die for me to save me from sin and its consequences. May you open my spiritual eyes to know Him more in my personal walk. In Jesus name.
