Bible Reading: Proverbs 4:1- 27
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” – Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)
A number of sicknesses and diseases are caused by sin. That’s why it’s important to ensure you give your life to Christ so that your sins are forgiven before praying for healing. In a number of cases, when the person forsakes the sin, he is made whole. No wonder the Lord Jesus forgave the sins of the man sick of the palsy before healing him. (Mark 2:4-12).
Some of these diseases and sicknesses are the handwork of the devil and they would only have access to your life when the hedge has been broken as a result of sin. Sometimes the sin is not intended but that does not change its nature as a sin. That was the case of a woman whose husband eloped with another woman and left her to cater for their children alone. The woman went through a lot of challenges that she decided not to forgive the man. Unfortunately, un-forgiveness is a sin.
Later the woman had cancer and had to go to a man of God to pray for her for healing. When the man was about to pray, God asked him not to pray but that the woman should forgive the person that offended her. When she was told by the Pastor, she stood up and said she would rather die than forgive her husband. And she left.
Fortunately, on her way, the Spirit ministered to her and she decided to forgive the man. Then she went back to the Pastor that she was ready to forgive her husband. The man of God was about to pray for her when God told him that the moment the lady forgave her husband, she was made whole and that she did not need any prayer for her healing. That’s how she was healed.
Are you harboring un-forgiveness or any other type of sin? That could be the source of your sickness, disease or even challenge. You need to ask God for the reason behind the challenge you are going through and he will reveal it to you. Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV) says: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
But if you know that there are sins you are currently involved in, it is time for you to repent and ask for mercy so that you can become a beneficiary of God’s blessing.
Prayer: Father, please open my eyes to sins that I need to repent of and give me the grace to do so in Jesus name.
