…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Proverbs 28: 1-28

“He that covereth his sin shall not prosper…” Proverbs 28:13a(KJV)

The major reason why people murder their sleep and comfort today is because of their quest for prosperity. Many consider prosperity as the accumulation of excessive wealth, i.e having fleet of cars, pointing to numerous houses both home and abroad, living in a cosy house and environment, having all that you want at your beck and call. However the true definition of prosperity goes beyond this in the Biblical context. We have in our world those who are swimming in all the above mentioned riches yet do not have peace. If you have all that money can buy but you do not have peace, is that true prosperity? How are you running the race of your prosperity? Is it by the prescribed standard of hard work or otherwise?

You should understand that whatever is gotten outside God’s mandate is regretful at the end, “wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use (such riches) will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase(his riches)” – Prov. 13:11 (Amp), In Proverbs 10:2(KJV) the scriptures says, “Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.” Riches gotten through hard work and in righteousness is of inestimable value. “In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble” – Prov.15:6(KJV).

To live in the prosperity of the biblical context, you need to confess all the known sins that the Holy Spirit brings to your knowledge no matter how big it may appear to you. Is it abortion, cheating, robbing, kidnapping, even ritual killing and all sort. Please, do not argue with the Holy Spirit as He brings to you all ‘dirty’ past which you have been covering till this moment. Folks, it is for your good because our God is compassionate and determines that you have access to all that He has provided. “If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]” -1 John 2:8-9 (Amp). Do you need mercy for prosperity? Then stop hiding your sins from Christ.

Prayer: Father, open my eyes to all my errors and give me grace to confess and forsake them. Help me to live for you always in Jesus name.
