…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 25/06/2017

Bible Reading: Proverbs 30: 1-27

“Every word of God is pure:…..” Proverbs 30:5(KJV)

The eternal value of the Word of God cannot be quantified. The Scripture talks extensively of the premium God places on His Word. The Psalmist says “… for thou hast magnified your word above all thy name” – Psalm 132:5(KJV). All that are needed for life and godliness are cleverly arranged in the word. Is it not surprising when the Bible says every word of God is pure. It sends a clear signal to those of us who have the opportunity to access the word anytime, anywhere, any day that we should hold in high esteem every aspect of the word and not one at the expense of the other. It is as we see the purity of this word that the benefit accruable in it becomes our portion.

This word, when properly applied and believed in, can be a lamp to our feet and a light on our path (Psalm 119:105). It has the capacity to establish the eternal covenant of God with any man. Mary received the word from God sent by the mouth of an angel “And Mary said, behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her” Luke 1:38(KJV). We should not prefer some areas of God’s word to another. Paul, by inspiration, helps us to see that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness: that the man God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” – 2 Tim. 3:16-17(KJV).

Are you being corrected by the word of God? Please, do not discard it no matter what? Is the word currently instructing you in the areas of Christian character, diligence, holy living, and uprightness? Please hold on to it no matter how painful it may be because at the end it will benefit you immensely. Which aspect of God’s word is coming hard on you in the area of service to God and humanity? Please pay heed to them. Hold them strongly in your heart and make the necessary correction the Word impresses on you. Also, be careful of the current trend that is going on in the world, where people are now adding and removing from the eternally established word of God. It is dangerous. Beware! Determine to see every word of God as talking to you any time you have opportunity to open the Bible, don’t be selective on prosperity, power, protection, etc. God knows that you need them all.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see your revealed Word as a gift to me always in Jesus name.
