Bible Reading: Isaiah 16:1-14
“And in Mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness” – Isaiah 16:5(KJV)
When things are working well and rosy, we often forget that all those good things are from God (James 1:17). We think it is because we are smart or special in our own way. Rather than acknowledge God, thanking and praising Him for all the blessings bestowed on us, we ignore every call for praise. We even wax selfish, turning blind eyes to the needy.
Our conduct notwithstanding, the mercy of God is available to as many as will call on His name (Romans 10:13). No matter how low we have sunk or how bad we consider the sin that we committed, God is ready to forgive us all our sins, as Jesus fully paid for them (1 John 1:9). God is long-suffering, but He expects the sinner to repent. When you draw near to God, He also will draw near to you (James 4:8).
Prayer: O Lord, God Almighty, I thank you for all your blessings and ask that your love continually draw me to you, in spite of my sins and whether or not there is food on the table. Amen.
