Bible Reading: Isaiah 37:1-38
“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord” – Isaiah 37:14 KJV
There are times we feel that our prayers did not get to God or that He refused to answer us. In any of these situations, we can be greatly mistaken. First is to know and always remember that God hears our prayers. Second is to know that He answers us. (1 John 5:14-15).
Whenever thoughts that God doesn’t hear or answer our prayers comes to our mind, we need first to examine ourselves. Is our asking in accordance to His will? Is our desire in prayer to bring Him glory or satisfy our lusts — eyes, flesh and pride of life? Are we living in sin or is there wickedness in us?
If we have a clear conscience, whereby there is no condemnation, then Jesus gives us every right to behave like Hezekiah. Take the matter to God and leave it there. Pray and don’t worry. As well, don’t stop praying until the result comes. That change you desire will come. (Job 14:14).
Prayer: Lord I’m grateful for the assurance that you hear and answer prayers. Thank you for my answered prayers today, in Jesus name. Amen.
