Bible Reading: 2 Chron 8; Col. 1:16-29
“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:” – Colossians 1:26 (KJV).
Mystery is something difficult or impossible to understand or explain. The scripture says in Colossians 1:26 (KJV), “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:”
What is the hidden mystery that Apostle Paul refers to in Col 1:26? It is stated in verse 27 of that chapter that it is the Christ in you, the hope of glory. The Lord Jesus Christ is in you through the Holy Spirit. However how you respond to the Spirit determines whether He will grow in you or leave you entirely. David said in Psalm 51:11 (KJV), “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.”
So if you continually dwell in sin and invite the devil into your life, the Holy Spirit will depart and you will have to seek for Him again if you turn a new leaf. The good news however is that the Lord Jesus is ever ready to come back to you to wash you clean whenever you call on Him.
But what is expected of us being a part of the mystery? We should look at Apostle Paul. His response was to preach the gospel to several people all over the world. Even while he was in hurt, he rejoiced that he was able to bring others to the knowledge of Christ. No wonder he said in 1 Corinthians 9:16 K(JV), “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”
For us having Christ in us, we should also ensure we preach the good news to everyone we can reach for it is a command to us that we should do so. Hear the Lord Jesus in Mark 16:15 (KJV), “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Action Point: Go out today and preach the gospel to win souls to Christ in accordance with His command in Mark 16:15.
