Bible Reading: 2 Chron. 25; 2Thes. 2:10-17.
“That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:12 (KJV)
The world of technology is making life a lot easier as lots of things that would take days before can now be done in hours or even minutes. However it also comes with its burden. We can now see every event as it happens in different parts of the world. So as we can watch programs concerning things of God in various parts of the world so can one watch all sorts of depraved films or events on our handsets!
It is so easy to watch pornography without spending money on a magazine or going out of your room! In a number of cases, you even get unsolicited invitations to things that are ungodly. It behooves on us to choose what is right and hold tenaciously to it.
The word of God is immutable and it is clear. It says in the last days, “… men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy” – 2 Timothy 3:2 (KJV).
All these are happening now than ever before. More importantly, they are being painted as normal behaviour. People now feel free to show themselves as gay or lesbians; pride is seen as a virtue, disobedience to parents is indirectly legalized in many countries as children are free to invite the police whenever a parent punishes a child for what she considers wrong.
All these were prophesied in the bible as shown above. Such a prophecy is for us to take caution so that we do not fall prey to it. That is why we must continue to study the word of God regularly so that we can continuously hold unto the truth and eschew unrighteousness. More so that we know that all those who take pleasure in unrighteousness are damned! 2 Thessalonians 2:12 (KJV): “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
Prayer: Father, help me to hold unto the truth till the end in Jesus name.
