Bible Reading: 2 Chronicle 36. 1 Timothy 5:19-25
“Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid” -1 Timothy 5:24-25 (KJV).
Just as harvest of crops come differently and at different times and seasons so also harvest for actions, choices and decisions come in different seasons depending on God’s unique dealings with individuals.
Most times people do evil things and they seem to get away with it, sometimes others do some or similar things and they are exposed and judged instantly. Judgment could be instantaneous or delayed. Likewise, reward or justice could be instant or delayed.
We must understand that there are seasons of life. Two people could be going through different seasons of life at the same time and at the same locations depending on God’s dealings with them and their various responses to such dealings. We must understand that times and seasons happen to everyone. One may stay longer in a particular season than others depending on one’s cooperation with God. Life itself is a seed, living is sowing. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” -Galatians 6:7 (KJV). Words, actions and inactions are seeds. Services we render to God and to humanity are seeds. No seed sown will go unrewarded whether good or bad, the results are sure to come either as judgment or as reward.
While some will get instant judgment or reward, some judgments or rewards may linger for years but ultimately the sinner must not go unpunished and the good seed must not go unrewarded. “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed towards his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister” – Hebrews 6:10 (KJV).
We must not mistake heavens silence for ignorance, weakness or injustice. People often misinterpret delayed judgment to approval or endorsement of evil or wickedness. But know for sure that a sinner must never go unpunished. “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil” –Ecclesiastics 8:11 (KJV).
PRAYER: Oh Lord, help me not to be weary in well doing.
