Bible Reading: Esther 1; Hebrews 2:1-9
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him” – Hebrews 2:3 (KJV)
The heirs of salvation are never to keep their eyes off the train that has been made available in Jesus Christ. We are to give a full attention to all that God is passing to us every day if we would receive all that heaven has in reserve for us. We have admonition from the writer of Hebrews never to neglect this clarion call, as it can be dangerous and fatal. Never get off the train! This is because the effect would be hazardous. Remember that the matter of the gospel was first raised by Jesus Christ Himself and was confirmed by the people who had a close touch with Him and first-hand message from Him. Hear this, “that which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life. For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us…” – 1 John 1:1-3 (KJV).
God confirmed this manifestation with signs and wonders and diverse miracles together with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. All these were done to authenticate the superiority of His person over and above all beings. This has been done for the benefit of man whom He crowns with glory and honour. In line with the above and to show the premium that God places upon man, He goes ahead to hand over the works of His hand for him to oversee. The end that God had in mind when He created man a little lower than the angel was the salvation which no angel can give but the ‘son of man’- Jesus. This was evident in the life of Jesus when He had to suffer death for the salvation of all. Will you allow this train of salvation to go away like that without jumping into it? Do not waste this opportunity of salvation. For those who are inside the train already, do not seek to come out.
Prayer Point: Lord, I receive grace from you not to waste the grace of salvation extended to me in Jesus name.
