Bible Reading: Job 21; Heb 13:1-12.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” – Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)
The Jesus Christ preached over two thousand years ago remains the same today. His words do not change. They have passed through various climes, cultures, leadership but remain the same. When Apostle Peter asked that a man lame from birth rise up and walk in the name of Jesus Christ, he did, as stated in Acts 3:1-8. The same name of Jesus is being used today to set the captives free and to do several exploits by God’s children.
Sometime last year, a woman testified at a church program how she prayed in the name of Jesus for her daughter and her new born twins that died in the hospital and they all came back to life. The woman was not even a pastor!
Also I went to one branch of a bank and prayed in the name of Jesus for the branch and the branch manager who happened to have worked with me in the bank before.
Several years later, she saw me and gave testimonies of how her branch performance turned around after the prayer on that day. There are uncountable miracles, signs and wonders happening in the name of Jesus Christ because the word of God says in Philippians 2:10-11 (KJV), “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
The name of Jesus Christ heals the sick, sets the captive free, prospers the poor and does the miraculous at all times. That’s why Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) says: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” He has not changed as long as we follow his principles. To use his name for wonders, we must live a life of holiness; because without holiness, no man can see the Lord (Hebrews. 12:14). We must also exhibit faith noting that anything done outside of faith cannot please the Lord. (Hebrews 11:6).
Action Point: Ask God in faith for that which you are trusting him for in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
