TOPIC: TRIAL OF FAITH
Bible Reading: Job 36; 1 Pet. 1:1-8
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” – 1 Peter 1:7 (KJV).
When one goes on trial, he either wins or loses. Job went on trial and after doses of temptations, he came out well. He finished well and was rewarded by God as the bible records in Job 42:12 (KJV): “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:…”
Every Christian will go through trials to get him refined and better. Malachi 3:2-3 (KJV) say: “But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.”
So our trial is to make us purer and purge us of impurities in our life. Gold undergoes purification by passing through fire and by the time it is finished, it becomes better and costlier as it would have been made purer by removal of the impurities. This is similar to what we go through as Christians so that fruit of the flesh can be removed from us while the seed of the Holy Spirit bears fruit in our lives.
This is why it is said in 1 Peter 1:7 (KJV): “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
Such trials will need to be endured and the end of it shall lead to greater success. So if you are going through some challenges right now, you need to focus more on God, trusting him and thanking him for all he had done for you in the past and what he is set to do. Surely, you will overcome and when you do, you will be like them that dream as your mouth will be filled with laughter and your tongue with singing in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to overcome every challenge facing me now and make me more than a conqueror in Jesus name.
