Bible Reading: Psalm 36, Jude 1:13-18
“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts” – Jude 1: 18(KJV)
All through history every mass destruction of God due to sin, violence and corruption had always been preceded by mockery of different dimensions. These mockers had always walked or lived in their ungodly lusts.
In the days of Noah imagine what the degree of mockery was. Noah could not have built such a gigantic edifice of an Ark of such measurement alone, but where were those who helped to build the ark when the flood came. Can you imagine what it took a man to preach for one hundred years the same message of destruction by flood? For one hundred years nothing happened until the ark was closed and the rain came and destroyed them all. What a pity! My dear brother Noah was mocked beyond your imagination. He must have been called all types of name. His message made no meaning in the circumstances of those days. How can the world be destroyed by water? Where will the water come from seeing that it had never rained before then? His message was not scientifically tenable. It has no scientific proof, hence was regarded as merely a myth. I am sure those who built with him as labourers were paid and they spent their earned income making merry and enjoying themselves. They were actually mockers who walked after their own lusts.
How about events in Sodom and Gomorrah before it was destroyed by fire? The bible records, “And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous” – Genesis 18:20(KJV). Hear what Christ himself said: “Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted and they builded;” – Luke 17:28(KJV). Activities were going on as usual. The bible records in Genesis 19:14(KJV): “And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters and said, up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.” He was mocked even by his in-laws. What a pity!
My dear reader just like in the days of Noah and Lot, people are mocking the gospel and preachers today. They call them different names, such as fanatics, unlearned, people with little mind, frustrated persons, scientifically ignorant persons (SIP), etc. Scientists’ mockery is the loudest, but their wide mouth will soon be shut when the trumpet shall sound. Astronomers and astrologers will be busy with their astral projection, Christian Science busy with their chants, stargazers are busy with their fortune telling and the spirit communicators are operating in their trance when a sudden destruction shall come to the world. These are all mockers of the last days, who walk after their own lusts. PLEASE BEWARE!!!
