Bible Reading: Psalm 48: Revelation: 6: 9-17
“For this God is our God, forever and ever; he will be our guide even unto death” – Psalm 48:14 (KJV).
We as believers are eternally indebted to God to serve him for the rest of our lives. An understanding of the father heart of God and the sacrifice he made to redeem us should leave one with an awe of him and love for him that nothing else should ever compete with him. He deserves our all and our best because he gave us his all and his best when we least deserved it. God gave us salvation when we deserved condemnation; he gave us love when we deserved his wrath. He accepted us in his family when we deserved rejection; he gave us eternal life when we deserved death. He took our sins and our death; he took our curses, poverty and our infirmities. In exchange, he gave us righteousness, eternal life, blessings, prosperity and health. He loved us unto death. “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” – Romans 5:8 (KJV). Apostle Paul makes a case: “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die” – Romans 5:7 (KJV). If he showed us such love when we were his enemies much more now that we have become members of his family, how can he not with Christ freely give us all things?
He who showed us commitment unto death deserves our commitment for life and death. Nothing should separate us from the love of God. Hear apostle Paul make a lifetime assertion and statement to the point of death: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 8:38-39 (KJV).
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I receive the grace to serve you even unto death.
