Bible Reading: Psalm 49; Revelation 7: 1-8
“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, hurt not the earth and the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads” – Revelation 7:2-3 (KJV).
This scripture no doubt refers to the events of the end time or the last days. We should know also that we are living in the last days and bible prophecies are fast unfolding and fulfilling. This scripture also highlights the fact that believers are protected by God. Nothing happens to believers without God’s permission. It doesn’t matter how wicked, how evil and how desperate satan and his agents are to hurt believers, they cannot accomplish their plans without God’s knowledge and permission. They can only succeed by God’s permission. It is important to know also that whatever God allows good or bad in our perception, is for a purpose. He loves us and cares too much for us to permit anything to happen to us that are not meant for our correction, our learning and our development.
God has the power to frustrate the wicked weapons and arrows targeted at us, and he is committed to our good. But we are often guilty of breaking the hedge that God has put in place to protect us, thus, making ourselves vulnerable. The angels had the seal from God to protect the saints from being hurt. The presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is a seal from God and a guarantee of his ownership of us. “When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; he suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; saying, touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm” – Psalm 105:14-16 (KJV).
As we walk by faith, in love and in righteousness, staying connected to the Holy Spirit in unbroken communion, we enjoy the divine protection provided by our loving father.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to enjoy divine protection always.
