Bible Reading: Psalm 91
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” – Psalm 91:11(KJV)
There are conditions that satisfy the above promise. These are clearly stated in Psalm 91:9(KJV), “Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation”. When you make the most High God your habitation you become a recipient of God’s instruction to His angels to protect and preserve you. When the angels act on His instructions to keep you, you become undefeatable in the battles of life. God said to the Israelites in Exodus 23:20(KJV), “Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.” All through their match through the wilderness the Israelites never suffered any defeat as long as they obeyed the instructions of God. Their fear gripped all the nations along their path. In the same vein when we remain steadfast in abiding in Christ we are rest assured of God’s mighty protection and lifting.
When we remain under divine protection via angelic protection, the scriptures says we shall tread upon the lion and adder. We shall trample under our feet the young lion and the dragon (Psalm 91:13) This is in agreement with what our Lord Jesus Christ said to us in Luke 10:19(KJV), “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”
Angelic protection is the heritage of a true believer. As Christians we carry the savour of Christ in us. “For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish. To the one we are the savour of death unto death, and to the other the savour of life unto life…” – 2 Corinthians 2: 15-16(KJV). This is the blessing of Abraham which we inherited by Christ Jesus in Genesis 12:3(KJV), “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed”. The angels execute the decree of the Almighty God. So when they are given charge over thee they carry out the decree of God concerning you, and among the decrees of God concerning a believer is that whosoever plan evil against you shall perish. “Behold, all they that are incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive against thee shall perish” Isaiah 41:11(KJV). Under the divine charge the angels are to carry out divine assignment against your enemies by bringing God’s word to come to pass. “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you” – 2 Thess. 1:6(KJV). It is the angels that has been given charge over you that brings all these to pass in order to fulfil their divine mandate. This is what prophet Isaiah meant when he said no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). God will contend with your enemies through the angels He has given charge over your life.
