Bible Reading: Psalm 110

“The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool” – Psalm 110:1 (KJV)

Looking at our memory verse today, Psalm 110:1 (KJV), “The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” Here God  the father, said to God the son that he should sit on his right hand until he makes his enemies his foot stool. If God the father can say that to God the son, he expects us to hand over all our challenges to him. This is why he said in Philippians 4:6 (KJV), “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Handing over our challenges to him involves asking him to take charge of any situation in our lives. Such that no matter the situation, we will hand over issues concerning our health, finances, relationships, career, family, ministry and others to him. When we hand over such issues to him, it does not imply abandonment of our responsibilities but asking him for what we should do and doing our part while he does his part.

In 2 Kings 5:1-7, a widow whose late husband was a son of a prophet cried to Elijah for help concerning her financial situation which was precarious as creditors were ready to carry her children as bond men until she finished paying her debt. Prophet Elijah asked her to borrow many vessels and lock herself in her room and begin to pour the little oil into the vessels until they were full.

She did so and all the vessels she  borrowed were filled with oil and so she became an oil merchant. If she had not played her part to borrow more vessels and to pour the oil in the vessels, she would probably have lost her children and she would have died in the problem. So we need to continuously seek the face of God on all issues and follow his instructions as he has promised us in Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV), “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Prayer Point: Father, give me the grace to surrender all my challenges to you.
