Bible Reading: Psalm 125:1-5
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28 (KJV)
A minister of God recently shared his testimony of what happened to him some years ago. He was then planning to get married to a sister that he thought was a perfect match for him. Few months to their planned marriage, the sister suddenly walked away without giving any tangible reason. He was destabilized that he thought no woman could be as good as this sister and so he could not be happily married forever. So he kept to himself and became a triangular person moving from home to office, church and back home as he didn’t want to interact with anyone. Later one of his friends came to him at home and counseled him drawing his attention to the word of God in Romans 8:28 (KJV: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
And as if he had never heard that before, he felt relieved that truly, walking away of that sister may be for his good. At the time he gave the testimony he was married to a beautiful sister with godly children who are doing excellently well in their studies.
He gave the testimony to remind us that storms come into people’s life at different times and it is meant to lead us to greater heights.
Whatever the situation, we should know that nothing happens to believers without the knowledge of God. 1 John 3:20 (KJV) says: “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things”
So if you feel rejected, let down, dejected by any happening, recognise that God allows it to happen, and if you remain in Him, you will end up better. Ecclesiastes 7:8 (KJV): “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to see your purpose in every situation that I find myself in Jesus name.
