“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps”. – Matt 25:1-4
Following this parable are the parables of the three tenants who their master gave five, two, and one talent respectively to trade on and make profit, and that of the Sheep and the Goat.
The parables are about men on the planet earth divided into two; the foolish and the wise; the profitable and the unprofitable; and the Sheep-natured and those of the nature of Goat.
Which side do you belong?
While the Wise Virgins went in with the Bridegroom to the marriage because they were ready (see vs10) the door of grace was shut against the foolish.
The profitable tenants were rewarded because they were good and faithful while the wicked, slothful and unprofitable was cast into “outer darkness: where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”(Vs30).
Prayer: Pray for wisdom, to seek the kingdom of God and its righteousness as we wait for the Lord’s return in Jesus name.
